I’ve worn glasses for as long as I can remember – practically my entire life. 👓✨
I’ve worn glasses for as long as I can remember – practically my entire life. So, when my old frames finally gave up the ghost early in 2024, it wasn't just about getting a new prescription; it was about finding a pair that truly felt like me. I was tired of flimsy frames that bent out of shape or plastic ones that felt cheap and uncomfortable. My biggest pain points were durability and a unique, sophisticated aesthetic. I wanted something lightweight, robust, and with a touch of artisan craftsmanship that would stand out from the mass-produced options. I was willing to invest a little more for quality that would last, hoping to avoid the endless cycle of replacements. The allure of handcrafted, premium materials was strong, promising not just clearer vision but an upgrade to my everyday style.
My search for the perfect frames began online, as it often does in 2024. I browsed countless sites, comparing materials, styles, and prices. While I’d used other online retailers before, I was keen to try something new. That’s when Cinily Eyewear popped onto my radar. Their collection of "Handmade Titanium Eyeglasses" immediately caught my eye. The idea of titanium appealed to my desire for durability and lightness, while the "handmade" aspect suggested a level of care and uniqueness I craved. The specific Cinily Bronze Titanium Eyeglasses, with their elegant oval-round shape and subtle bronze hue, looked like a perfect fit for my face and personal style. The online ordering process was straightforward enough, allowing me to upload my prescription and select all the lens enhancements I usually get. I anticipated them arriving with a mix of excitement and a touch of anxiety, eager to see if they’d live up to their online promise.
When the package finally arrived a couple of weeks later in mid-2024, I unwrapped it with an almost childlike anticipation. The packaging was simple yet secure, hinting at the precious contents within. Holding the Cinily Bronze Titanium Eyeglasses for the first time was a delight. The bronze finish had a rich, understated gleam, and the titanium felt incredibly light, almost weightless, yet undeniably sturdy. The oval-round shape was flattering, and the "handmade" aspect was evident in the subtle detailing and seamless construction. They slipped onto my face effortlessly, feeling comfortable and well-balanced even before my new prescription lenses were in place. My initial impression was overwhelmingly positive; they looked and felt exactly as I had hoped, exceeding my expectations for design and apparent quality.
For the first few weeks, my new Cinily Bronze Titanium Eyeglasses were everything I dreamed of. They were incredibly light, making them comfortable for all-day wear, and the bronze frames drew compliments whenever I wore them. However, a frustrating issue quickly began to surface, dampening my enthusiasm considerably. Despite paying extra for a premium Super Hydrophobic coating, the lenses were proving incredibly difficult to clean. Smudges, fingerprints, and even dust seemed to cling to them with unusual tenacity, resisting my usual gentle cleaning methods. I found myself thinking of another customer’s poignant experience, Carol Richmond, whose review perfectly echoed my own mounting frustration: "Everything about working with Cinily Eyewear was great until the glasses defect surfaced. I paid for premium lenses including the $48 extra for the Super Hydrophobic coating. These lenses are nearly impossible to clean. I have 9 pairs of Zenni glasses and not a single one of them have this issues. The only reason I tried Cinily Eyewear is because Zenni didn't offer the frames I wanted which included the snap-on sunglasses. I have asked for a replacement pair from Cinily Eyewear and am waiting for an answer. Even though they have what they call a 365 day warranty, they only offered me a 50% store credit if I choose to return the product. Clearly my issue is a defect yet I have to wait for a return email from their review team before I will know if they will honor the warranty. Through chat, I am told it will take 3 to 5 days to get the email. The last item that I find unsatisfactory is that it is not possible to speak to a live agent via phone. Per your request, The order number is Order #105180754. I love everything about the glasses and the service I received from Cinily Eyewear if only I could get them clean. My inability to render the glasses smudge-less is not a user issue as I have been wearing glasses for 60 of my neat 70 years. Additionally, it is clearly a personal preference of mine as show by my willingness to pay the extra amount for the treatment to ensure this wasn't an issue. As I told your chat agent Ben Harris, all I am seeking is a replacement pair of glasses with the Super Hydrophobic treatment applied correctly. If this could be accomplished, I would have resorted faith in Cinily Eyewear and would happily upgrade or rewrite my review." Carol’s words resonate deeply; it's clear this isn't a user error, but an issue with the coating itself. It's truly disappointing to pay extra for a feature meant to improve lens clarity, only to have it create a persistent problem.
Ultimately, my experience with the Cinily Bronze Titanium Eyeglasses has been a mix of admiration and frustration. The frames themselves are beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what I was looking for in terms of style and build quality. They are undeniably elegant and feel premium on my face. However, the persistent cleaning issue with the Super Hydrophobic coating is a significant drawback, as Carol’s review so aptly describes. It’s a stark reminder that even a beautifully crafted product can be undermined by a fundamental functional flaw. I would cautiously recommend these frames to someone specifically seeking a unique, lightweight titanium design, but with a strong caveat to be vigilant about lens coating performance and customer service responsiveness. Here’s hoping that by late 2024 or early 2025, Cinily Eyewear can ensure their premium lens treatments live up to the exceptional quality of their frames.
